For digestive and hepatic function. Natural anti-inflammatory
Turmeric is an orange-yellow spice that comes from India and has been one of the main ingredients in Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cuisine for centuries. Due to its beneficial and curative properties, turmeric is used both in the Indian Ayurveda medicine and in Chinese medicine. In fact, it is able to counteract the inflammatory processes in the body.
Its liquid formulation, called solubilized, provides a biomimetic micellar structure, soluble in water, thereby reaching an extraordinarily superior absorption compared to turmeric powder. The release of curcumin takes place at the best point of absorption of the intestinal wall and remains in the plasma for over 24 hours.
This leads to the success of bioavailability.
Turmeric has a thousand positive potentials on our health:
-It is a powerful antioxidant and, working directly on free radicals, curcumin has an antioxidant property about 300 times higher than vitamin E.
-It is cholesterol lowering, with a 30% reduction of LDL.
– Fights calculi, as the curcumin increases the solubility of bile, preventing and encouraging the formation of stones.
– Fights neurodegenerative diseases, through the protection of lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species.
– It is useful in case ofthe epatitis.
– It prevents fibrous degeneration of the liver.
-It is a powerful anti-inflammatory, through the inhibition of the expression of a series of cytokines, enzymes and transcription factors naturally involved in the inflammatory process. In contrast to NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), in addition, curcumin has no gastric effects due to prolonged treatments (it has shown, indeed, to improve the symptoms related to gastric ulcer).
-It is useful for microcirculation: an improvement in vessel reactivity was seen, measured by mediated flow vasodilation. Treatments with curcumin have also shown to reduce the bleeding time of the wounds, increasing the deposition of collagen and therefore the vascular density.
-It is useful in oncological therapies, in case of arthritis and problems in the cardiovascular system (antioxidant properties seem to prevent coronary accidents)
– Protects the gastro intestinal tract: in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, turmeric showed an improvement in symptoms (abdominal pain) and quality of life.
